Sackatoga Stable's four-time grade 1 winner Tiz the Law  got back to work Sept. 25 and recorded his first breeze since finishing second in the Sept. 5 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (G1) at Churchill Downs. The 3-year-old son of Constitution  breezed a half-mile in :50.07 under Heather Smullen over a fast main track at Belmont Park.

"It was a nice, easy work," trainer Barclay Tagg said. "I wasn't looking for much. I just wanted him to go out there and stretch his legs. He hadn't done anything in three weeks."

The connections of Tiz the Law opted to bypass the Preakness Stakes (G1) Oct. 3 at Pimlico Race Course, where Kentucky Derby winner Authentic  will head next, and instead will train up to the Longines Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) Nov. 7 at Keeneland, where the colt will face older horses for the first time. Tiz the Law will attempt to become the 13th 3-year-old to score a victory in this year's 37th Classic.

Prior to Tiz the Law's last-out second in the Kentucky Derby, where he finished 1 1/4-lengths behind Authentic, he won his prior four starts this season in dominant fashion, taking the Holy Bull Stakes (G3) and Curlin Florida Derby (G1), both at Gulfstream Park, before a 3 3/4-length victory in the Belmont Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets (G1) June 20 ahead of a 5 1/2-length romp in the Runhappy Travers (G1) Aug. 8 at Saratoga Race Course.

During his 2-year-old season, Tiz the Law won the Champagne Stakes (G1) at Belmont in his second start after besting fellow New York-breds in his career debut at Saratoga. His only other loss besides the Derby came at Churchill Downs last season when third in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2).

Bred in New York by Twin Creeks Farm, Tiz the Law is out of the graded stakes-winning Tiznow mare Tizfiz and was purchased for $110,000 from Sequel New York's consignment to the 2018 Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Yearlings Sale. He has earned $2,615,300.
