Quality Road Leads 2021 Stallion Roster at Lane's End

Lane's End Farm announced Oct. 23 its stud fees for 2021, topped by Quality Road, who stands for $150,000, down from $200,000 this year. Twenty-one horses comprise the stallion roster at the Versailles, Ky., farm, including newcomers Game Winner, Gift Box, and Honor A. P.—plus Daredevil, who returns to America from Turkey after his progeny's success in 2020. Hammonds: Daredevil Returns to Stand at Lane's End The new sires and Daredevil will have fees in the $10,000-$30,000 range, while Quality Road and Candy Ride (ARG) command the largest prices at the farm. Candy Ride stands for $75,000. A 14-year-old son of Elusive Quality, Quality Road has sired 11 grade/group 1 winners from six crops of racing age, including champions Abel Tasman and Caledonia Road. His daughters Dunbar Road and Bellafina are expected to race Nov. 7 at Keeneland at the Breeders' Cup in the Longines Distaff (G1) and Filly & Mare Sprint (G1), respectively. Some top performers by Candy Ride are also pointed toward Breeders' Cup races. Vekoma is likely to run in the Sprint (G1) or Big Ass Fans Dirt Mile (G1), and Ollie's Candy goes in the Distaff. The $30,000 fee of Liam's Map is subject to change after Nov. 5, Lane's End announced. One of the leading second-crop sires, he could be represented in the Breeders' Cup by Rushie in the Dirt Mile and Crazy Beautiful in the Juvenile Fillies (G1). * Until Nov. 5.
