Baoma Sets 2021 Fees for Stallions at Bridlewood Farm
Baoma Corp. has set 2021 stud fees for its stallions Chitu, Valiant Minister, and Tunwoo, who are all standing at Bridlewood Farm near Ocala, Fla. Grade 1-placed grade 3 winner Chitu, a 9-year-old son of Henny Hughes out of Sea Gift (A.P. Indy), will stand for a reduced fee of $3,500, down from $4,500 this year. Baoma Corp. said it lowered his fee to show its appreciation to breeders who have supported the stallion and to encourage new breeders to use the second-crop sire, who is the third-leading Florida-based sire of his class this year. Chitu's winners this year include Windy City Red, who finished third in the Speakeasy Stakes on the grass at Santa Anita Park. First-crop yearling sire Valiant Minister, a 7-year-old son of Candy Ride (ARG) out of Spooky Minister (Deputy Minister), remains at $3,000 for 2021. He sired a yearling filly out of the Distorted Humor mare Resilient Humor who was among the top 10 highest-priced yearlings at the recent Ocala Breeders' Sales October Sale, bringing $120,000. Baoma also stands Tunwoo, a Medaglia d'Oro half brother to Chitu and the only son of his sire standing in Florida. Tunwoo was highly regarded as a yearling. He didn't sell, but he brought a final bid of $775,000 in 2016 at The Saratoga Sale, Fasig-Tipton's select sale in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The stallion entered stud in 2019 and will stand for $2,500.
