Shadai Stallion Station Announces 2021 Stud Fees

Shadai Stallion Station has announced a roster of 30 stallions for the 2021 which includes three new recruits in the form of Nadal, Siskin, and Le Vent Se Leve

While fee of Lord Kanaloa, sire of four grade 1  winners including Tagaloa, winner of the Neds Blue Diamond Stakes (G1) at Caulfield in February 2020, has been reduced from ¥20,000,000 in 2019 to ¥15,000,000 (US$142,194) in 2020, the son of King Kamehameha remains the most expensive sire at Shadai.

The fee for Epiphaneia, who sired Triple Tiara winner Daring Tact in his first crop, has doubled from ¥5,000,000 to ¥10,000,000 ($94,796). The fee of Kizuna, who has sired six graded stakes winners in his first crop, has also been raised from ¥6,000,000 to ¥10,000,000. The fee for Duramente, who is ranked second on the list of 2020 freshman sires, has been raised from ¥7,000,000 to ¥10,000,000 for 2020.

While the fee of Bricks and Mortar, who started his stud duty at Shadai last year, remains unchanged at ¥6,000,000 ($56,877) for 2020, the fee for New Year's Day, who was also recruited to Shadai in 2019, has been reduced from ¥3,000,000 to ¥2,500,000 ($23,699).     

Nadal (by Blame ), an unbeaten winner of a division of the Arkansas Derby (G1), will stand for ¥4,000,000 ($37,918). Siskin (First Defence), a winner of three group events on the turf including the Tattersalls Irish Two Thousand Guineas (G1) in June 2020, will stand for ¥3,500,000 ($33,179). Lastly, Le Vent Se Leve—Japanese dirt champion in 2018—will stand for ¥1,500,000 ($14,219).
