After a bit of a regulatory delay, MyRacehorse will offer microshares of two-time champion female Monomoy Girl April 15.

In a letter to potential owners who had expressed interest in Monomoy Girl on the evening of April 14, MyRacehorse noted that the SEC has qualified its most recent equine offerings and at noon, Thursday, would begin an early access period for MyRachorse account holders who previously had expressed interest in Monomoy Girl.

MyRacehorse said any remaining shares in Monomoy Girl will be made available Friday to the general public. Because of the strong level of interest in Monomoy Girl and to allow as many fans the opportunity to own a share in this mare, MyRacehorse has instituted a two-share maximum order limit during the initial days of the purchase period.

There will be 10,200 shares offered and partners will be able to purchase a 0.005% share in the Monomoy Girl lease agreement for $46.

Monomoy Girl is scheduled to face 2020 champion 3-year-old filly Swiss Skydiver in the $1 million Apple Blossom Handicap (G1) April 17 at Oaklawn Park. Monomoy Girl is the 124-pound highweight in the expected field of six fillies and mares.

"We are ecstatic that we'll get to share Saturday's race and the rest of Monomoy Girl's 2021 campaign with thousands of new shareholders," MyRacehorse said in its letter to account holders. "We're looking forward to making some exciting memories with new and familiar faces in the MRH program."

New shareholders will have one win in the bank as Monomoy Girl won her seasonal debut Feb. 28 at Oaklawn in the $250,000 Bayakoa Stakes (G3). Monomoy Girl earned $150,000 in gross race earnings for her win ($76,500 for MyRacehorse's 51% ownership). Race earnings have been applied toward the Monomoy Girl series.

MyRacehorse also announced that next week it will launch offerings in two-time grade 1 winner Got Stormy and winner Social Dilemma

MyRacehorse bought into the racing rights of Monomoy Girl after the 2018 champion 3-year-old filly and 2020 champion older dirt female was purchased by Spendthrift Farm for $9.5 million at The November Sale, Fasig-Tipton's premier breeding stock sale in Lexington. Under terms of the lease agreement, MyRacehorse will control 51% of her racing rights, which were purchased from Spendthrift for $300,000 (Sol Kumin's Madaket Stables also owns a minority percentage of the Tapizar mare's racing rights).

Potential shareholders have been able to express interest in Monomoy Girl and Got Stormy through the MyRacehorse website but neither officially had been offered as the stable awaited SEC approval, which has now arrived. MyRacehorse founder and CEO Michael Behrens said sometimes these processes require patience on the investor side, but he thinks such regulation is good for all involved. He said last month that MyRacehorse has always understood that the SEC can put in its due diligence.

A total of 5,100 microshares of Got Stormy will sell for $45 for a 0.01% share. MyRacehorse leased 51% of her racing rights for $125,000.
