Obituary: Etchison Worked at Fasig-Tipton, MHBA

Meredith Page Etchison, who worked in the Maryland horse industry and for Fasig-Tipton, died May 7 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington of complications from cancer. She was 64. Etchison was born May 1, 1957, to Lynne Irons Etchison and Edward Hart Etchison and grew up in Frederick, Md. She loved horseback riding and art. She attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated from Hood College in 1979. An avid photographer and talented graphic artist, she started her career at The Maryland Horse and the Maryland Horse Breeders Association. She moved to Lexington in 1983 and worked for Fasig-Tipton in advertising and marketing from 1983-95. A floral designer and landscape artist, Etchison's passions were many: gardens, flowers, horses, racing, corgis, Ireland, interior design, cooking, friends, and family. Etchison has designed, planted, and maintained stunning gardens and landscapes throughout Lexington with her company Ladybug etc. She opened her flower shop Etchison Co. at 328 North Ashland in Lexington in 2017 and brought her keen eye and unique artistry to every bouquet and arrangement. She particularly loved designing for weddings. Her kind and generous spirit will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. ET on Thursday, May 13, at Kerr Brothers, 463 Main Street in Lexington. Kerr Brothers will live stream the celebration of life on their Facebook Live Stream. Interment will be in Frederick, Md., at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chrysalis House in Lexington or the Lexington Humane Society.
