Brennan Dies From Injuries Sustained in Fall

Arkansas owner and former executive director of the Arkansas Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association, Loretta Brennan died March 31 from head and neck injuries sustained in a fall at her home, according to a Daily Racing Form report. Brennan, 65 is married to trainer Terry Brennan, who reportedly said his wife was getting ready to go to a concert with her sister when she fell from the staircase at their home. The couple would have celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary April 1. "We have six children and 10 grandchildren," Terry Brennan told DRF. "I've lost parents and a brother, and it's nothing like losing your wife. I've been a wreck." Brennan was born in Texarkana, Texas, and her family reportedly owned resort properties in area lakes around Hot Springs. "She was a giving person, always outgoing, never met a stranger," Brennan said. "And she cooked the best fried chicken in the world." The funeral services will be held April 7 at 12:00 p.m. CT at Piney Grove United Methodist Church, 2963 Airport Road in Hot Springs, Ark. The viewing will start at 11 a.m. at the church, according to Terry Brennan.
