Early Voting Will Run Next in Jim Dandy, Brown Says

Preakness Stakes (G1) winner Early Voting will run in the $600,000 Jim Dandy Stakes (G2) at Saratoga Race Course July 30. Trainer Chad Brown said the son of Gun Runner arrived at his barn and took to the Oklahoma Training Track July 17 from Belmont Park. Brown decided that Saratoga would be the destination for Klaravich Stables' Early Voting rather than a start in the $1 million TVG.com Haskell Stakes (G1) July 23 at Monmouth Park. Brown will be represented in New Jersey by Jim Bakke, Gerald Isbister, Coolmore Stud, and Peter Brant's Jack Christopher, who is undefeated in four starts. Jack Christopher, a son of Munnings, is coming off a 10-length win in the seven-furlong Woody Stephens Stakes Presented by Mohegan Sun (G1). "Jack Christopher looked great this morning and he looks ready to go for the Haskell," Brown said. "At the end of the day, I am going to run two horses in one race and one in the other." Brown also has Jeff Drown's Zandon, winner of the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1), for the Jim Dandy Stakes. Also expected is Winchell Thoroughbreds' Epicenter, the runner-up in both the Preakness (G1) and the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (G1). "I just don't see the benefit of putting Early Voting in a larger field against a really fast horse... and what it might do to him five weeks from the Travers," Brown said.
