The Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Fall Yearling Sale kicked off Oct. 3 at a steady pace, seeing horses change hands, including the session topping $320,000 daughter of Uncle Mo , purchased by Legion Bloodstock, agent.
The day was led by a Maryland-bred daughter of Uncle Mo, consigned as Hip 158 by Scott Mallory, agent for Determined Stud, which bred the filly. She comes from the family of Andina, a grade 2 placed stakes winner by Singspiel and dam of two-time grade 2 winner in Chile, Australia Mia and Andina Del Sur, winner of the 2018 Florida Oaks (G3T) who placed in four other grade 3 events.
At the conclusion of the first day of selling, Fasig-Tipton reported 145 of the 178 yearlings through the ring sold for gross figures of $3,947,2000, suitable for an average price of $27,222 and median of $14,000. There were 33 horses who failed to meet their reserve to represent an RNA rate of 18.5%.
During the opening session in 2021, 149 yearlings of the 178 on offer were sold for gross figures of $4,577,300, establishing an average price of $30,720 and a median of $20,000. Twenty-nine yearlings failed to meet their reserve, representing an RNA rate of 16.2%.
Tomorrow's session begins at 10:00 a.m. ET with Hips 201 - 512 slated to go under the hammer. As of Monday evening, there were 35 horses withdrawn from the second session.
