Seattle Serenade sired his first winner Oct. 9 when Renegade Serenade broke his maiden on first asking at Woodbine.
Renegade Serenade, with Rafael Hernandez in the irons, beat out Three Sonny Sideup by a head in a seven-furlong battle. Bred by Joey Gee Thoroughbreds and owned by Trinity Racing Stables, Renegade Serenade was trailing by 9 1/2 lengths at the half-mile mark, but the Kevin Attard trainee went five wide to close the gap and take the lead by a half-length at the top of the stretch. Renegade Serenade traded the lead seemingly with every stride until the wire.
Trinity Racing bought Renegade Serenade for $4,756 at the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society's 2021 Canadian-bred Yearling Sale from the Hill 'n' Dale Sales Agency consignment. Renegade Serenade is out of Miss Pauline, by Cat Thief. She has six starters out of nine foals and four winners.
