G2 Winner Rushie to Louisiana for 2023 Breeding Season

Grade 2 winner Rushie has been relocated to Blue Star Racing in Scott, La. for the 2023 breeding season after standing his first year at stud in Florida. The 5-year-old son of Liam's Map was retired in January of last year after compiling a record of 3-2-3 from 15 starts and earnings of $697,941. Campaigned by James and Donna Daniell and trainer Mike McCarthy, Rushie earned his biggest career victory in the 2020 Pat Day Mile Stakes presented by LG and E and KU (G2) at Churchill Downs. He also placed in three graded stakes races, including the 2020 RUNHAPPY Santa Anita Derby (G1). Rushie previously stood at a fee of $5,000 at Pleasant Acres Stallions in Ocala, Fla. upon retirement. He is one of the leading earners from fourth crop stallion Liam's Map, a Las Vegas Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1)-winning son of influential sire Unbridled's Song. Rushie's dam, the Colonel John mare Conquest Angel, is a half sister to grade 1 victress Peace and War. "Sires from the Unbridled's Song line have been an integral part of Louisiana breeding success for the last 20 years and Rushie is the perfect candidate to continue that legacy," said Dex Comardelle of Blue Star Racing. "His size, speed, and durability are a great match for the speedy sprint-type mares that make up the majority of our southwest mare population." Rushie will stand the 2023 breeding season for a fee of $4,000, where he will join Blue Star's other stallion, second crop sire Breaking Lucky.
