MyRacehorse to Launch Breeding Syndicate in England
The micro-share ownership group MyRacehorse announced Dec. 9 its first breeding syndicate, which involves the recently retired seven-time group 1 winner Stradivarius (IRE). In partnership with The National Stud, MyRacehorse purchased Blackbird Power (GB) at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale for 15,000 guineas (US$18,825). The winning daughter of Dark Angel (IRE) will be bred to Stradivarius, and shares of the mare and resulting foal will be offered before both are sold in 2024. "When The National Stud approached us with this idea, we knew we had to be a part of it," said Jules Pittam, managing partner of MyRacehorse in the United Kingdom and Ireland. "We promise our owners top racehorses and unique experiences, and you really can't beat owning one of the first foals by the phenomenal Stradivarius. Add in the fact that owners will have ample opportunity to visit The National Stud and see not only their foal, but Stradivarius as well, and you have a real once-in-lifetime opportunity." Anna Kerr, CEO of The National Stud, said the partnership opens up a new way for racing fans to experience horse racing. "Stradivarius is a modern racing icon, and the opportunity to be a part of his stud career will enable those involved to build a deep connection with one of the most popular flat horses in recent memory," she said. Stradivarius won a record 18 European group stakes and amassed lifetime earnings of £3,458,968.
