The first reported foal for Galawi , a filly, was born Jan. 10 at the Northview Stallion Station in Chesapeake City, Md. Produced from the young Into Mischief mare My Mischief, the filly was bred by local Maryland breeders John and Victoria Price.
The Prices have booked My Mischief back to Galawi for the 2023 breeding season.
“(Galawi) is a very well-conformed horse, with great presence and we’re lucky to have him in Maryland," John Price said.
The filly is the second foal for My Mischief, who currently has a weanling daughter of Thousand Words .
Galawi was retired to Northview Stallion Stallion in 2022 after winning his sole U.S. start, a 1 1/4-mile maiden special weight on the turf at Belmont Park for trainer Graham Motion and owner/breeders Wertheimer & Frere.
The 6-year-old stallion sports one of the finest pedigrees in the studbook, being sired by global leading stallion Dubawi and out of the group 1-winning Galileo mare Galikova. His dam is a half sister to the brilliant Hall of Fame race mare Goldikova, a three-time winner of the Breeders' Cup Mile (G1T) and earner of over $7.1 million.
One of only two sons of Dubawi currently standing in North America, Galawi's stud fee is reprised at $2,000 for the 2023 breeding season.
