Seven stallions are joining Ontario's Thoroughbred Improvement Program for 2023, including five that will be standing their first season in the Canadian province.

Avie's Flatter, Collusion Illusion , Mohaymen, Serve the King, and Tamarkuz  will all stand stud in Ontario for the first time, while Ami's Flatter  is a second-crop sire who previously stood in Florida and Guipago returns to the province.

Serve the King, Avie's Flatter, and Collusion Illusion are entering-year stallions, who all achieved graded stakes success on the racetrack.

Serve the King was a grade 1-placed, grade 2 winner on the turf and will stand at Yorktech Racing Stables.

Ontario-bred Avie's Flatter was a versatile runner who won or placed in stakes ranging from six furlongs to 1 1/2 miles on all surfaces—Tapeta, turf, and dirt—and will stand at Colebrook Farms.

Collusion Illusion was a multiple graded stakes winner at six and 6 1/2 furlongs, including the Bing Crosby Stakes (G1) and was graded stakes-placed at seven furlongs. He will stand at Ballycroy Bloodstock alongside Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner Tamarkuz, who previously stood at Shadwell Farm near Lexington since 2017.

Mohaymen is by multiple leading sire Tapit  and was a multiple grade 2 stakes winner of just under $1 million on the racetrack. Since entering stud in 2018, he's sired 49 winners that include grade 2 winner Elm Drive and multiple stakes winner Mowins. He was a top 10 North American freshman sire in 2021 and will stand at Northern Dawn Stables.

Rounding out the new sires are Ami's Flatter and Guipago. Ami's Flatter returns to Ontario after standing four seasons at Ocala Stud in Central Florida, and Guipago previously stood in Ontario from 2015-17. They will stand at T.C. Westmeath Stud Farm and Jecara Farms, respectively.

In addition to the seven new stallions, three of Ontario's top-five leading sires will return in 2023.

Silent Name , Ontario's leader by number of stakes winners and stakes horses, will stand at Adena Springs North. The 21-year-old son of Sunday Silence had six runners crack the $100,000 mark in 2022 led by Cup and Saucer Stakes winner Philip My Dear, who also ran third in the Summer Stakes (G1T).

Souper Speedy, the third-leading active sire by 2022 progeny earnings, was represented last year by Maple Leaf Stakes (G3) winner Il Malocchio, who also was his top runner this past year.

Rounding the top returning stallions is Reload . Poulin in O T was his leading runner, as the gelding put together a 2-year-old campaign that captured three stakes and earned more than $200,000.
