Not This Time Colt Sizzles at OBS March Under Tack Show

The final under tack show of the Ocala Breeders' Sales' March Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training went out with fireworks March 17 as two juveniles clocked the co-fastest times of the sale for an eighth of a mile and quarter-mile, respectively. Day 4 of the under tack show was off to a fast start when a gray or roan daughter of Enticed blitzed a quarter-mile in :20 3/5. Consigned as Hip 631 from Omar Ramirez Bloodstock, the California-bred filly is from the first crop of graded stakes winner Enticed, a regally-bred son of Medaglia d'Oro. Hip 631 is out of the Tapit mare Love's Illusion, a half sister to 2017 Mother Goose Stakes (G2) victress Unchained Melody and the dam of stakes-placed J C's a Legend (Lea). The gray or roan filly was purchased as a weanling for $15,000 by Polo Green Stable Partnership at the 2021 Keeneland November Sale. Later in the day, a brawny chestnut son of leading sire Not This Time posted the co-fastest eighth of a mile of the sale when he blazed a :9 3/5 breeze for GOP Racing Stable consignment. The Iowa-bred colt, offered as Hip 654, is a half sibling to three winners, including stakes-placed Bridgette Bordeaux (Medaglia d'Oro). Hip 654 is produced from the multiple stakes-winning Runaway Groom mare Meadow Bride, an earner of $339,168 on the track. The colt has passed through the ring two times previously, the first when selling to Machmer Hall, agent for David Menard, for $50,000 as a weanling at the 2021 Keeneland November Sale and then again when consigned by Machmer Hall Sales as a yearling at the 2022 Keeneland September Sale, where he fetched $50,000 from GOP Racing Stable. Eight individuals shaded :10 in their breezes to clock the eighth of a mile in :9 4/5 while one individual was timed in :20 4/5 for a quarter-mile. The sale kicks off March 20, beginning at 11 a.m. ET, with Hips 1-278 scheduled to go through the ring, followed by Hips 279-556 March 21, and Hips 557-833 March 22..
