Mitole Sires First Winner in Russia

Spendthrift Farm's freshman sire Mitole landed his first winner at Nal'chik Hippodrome in Russia May 9 when his son Mit Myth won a six-furlong locally recognized, non-black-type group 3 stakes on dirt for juveniles called the Probniy Prize. Mit Myth won his career debut for owner Volgogradskiy Stud Farm and trainer Hatkov Shamil. The Mitole colt won by a nose over fellow United States-bred Red Raund (by Oscar Performance). Finishing third was another American-bred named Parizh (Goldencents). The final time was 1:15.30. Tin Roof Farms in Louisiana bred Mit Myth out of the Artie Schiller daughter Family Myth, who has also produced stakes-placed winner Family Creed (Jimmy Creed). The mare is a half sister to stakes winner and multiple stakes producer Sweet Seventeen. Family Myth has a yearling colt by Honor A. P. and a 2023 colt by Gift Box. Stuart Morris consigned both Family Myth and Mit Myth at the 2022 Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale where he sold the mare for $34,000 to Frankly Speaking Racing and sold the colt for $30,000 to Delta Bloodstock. Mitole is a four-time grade 1 winner by Eskendereya. He won the 2019 Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) on his way to being named Eclipse champion male sprinter for the year. Mitole and Omaha Beach, who also stands at Spendthrift, are the first in their freshman stallion class to sire winners. Mitole stands for $15,000.
