Know It Now to Enter Stud in Alberta

Know It Now, a winning son of 2015 American Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, will enter stud at Schweer Farm near Mayerthorpe, Alberta, according to the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society. He will stand for CA$1,800 with a CA$200 booking fee. Calumet Farm bred the young stallion out of the grade 3-placed winner Before You Know It, a daughter of Hard Spun and a half sister to grade 2-placed winner Tarantino (Pioneerof the Nile) and grade 3-placed winner Instant Reflex (Quality Road). The immediate family also has produced group 1 winner and European highweight Starman; grade 1-placed, multiple graded stakes winner and sire Olmodavor; grade 1-placed Tampa Bay Derby (G2) winner King Guillermo; and, multiple group winner Slow Pace. Know It Now raced at 3 and 4, compiling a 2-0-4 record from 10 starts. He became a winner in his third career start (first start at 4) at Parx Racing and followed with a half-length win going seven furlongs at Parx for owner Jack Armstrong and trainer Philip Aristone. Know It Now is American Pharoah's first son to stand in Canada. American Pharoah, a son of Pioneerof the Nile, swept the Triple Crown and won the Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) on his way to earning $8,650,300. He is the leading North American fifth-crop sire by cumulative progeny earnings at more than $39 million and the leader by cumulative grade 1 winners with six.
