Kristinachrysalis is Maximus Mischief's First Winner

The first starter for Spendthrift Farm's freshman sire Maximus Mischief became his first winner May 25 when Kristinachrysalis won a 4 1/2 furlong maiden special weight at Pimlico Race Course in near gate-to-wire fashion. Richard Burnsworth's filly became a winner in her second career start, which followed a third-place finish at Parx Racing May 1. Kristinachrysalis is trained by Anthony Farrior. Schiano Racing bred Kristinachrysalis in West Virginia out of the Tiznow daughter Tiz Her Now, who is a full sister to West Virginia Derby (G2) runner-up and stakes winner Rush Now. The 2-year-old filly was offered as a yearling during the 2022 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale by Baldwin Bloodstock and bought back on a final bid of $50,000. Kristinachrysalis is her dam's first live foal. She has a yearling full brother and Tiz Her Now produced a filly this year by Independence Hall. Maximus Mischief is a 7-year old-son of four-time leading North American sire Into Mischief, who also stands at Spendthrift. He won the Remsen Stakes (G2) at 2 and was third the following year in the Holy Bull Stakes (G3). An injury prior to the Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) would derail his racing career. The first 2-year-olds by Maximus Mischief have been well received at auction, with eight of his progeny bringing six-figure prices. His top seller to date is a $280,000 colt out of the Majesticperfection mare Perfect Bourbon.
