Legalized retail sports betting arrived in Florida with its launch Thursday at Seminole Hard Rock Casino, and Tampa Bay Downs will benefit as a sports betting marketing partner of the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
The agreement allows fans to support Tampa Bay Downs by signing up to wager at www.hardrock.bet/tampabaydowns, www.hardrock.bet/tgtpoker, or by scanning a QR code accessible at the racetracks.
Members of Tampa Bay Downs' The Club loyalty program can accrue additional points each time they place a bet through the app. Anyone who is not currently a member of The Club can sign up at the Customer Service window on the first floor of the Grandstand or in the General Office on non-racing days.
"We are excited for Tampa Bay Downs and TGT Poker & Racebook to have an opportunity to partner with Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock Bet," said Greg Gelyon, the Oldsmar oval's Vice President of Finance.
Gelyon said sports betting revenue received by the track pursuant to its agreement with Seminole Gaming will be directed toward upgrades to the plant. "It will give us an opportunity to improve the facility and enhance our customers' racetrack experience," Gelyon said.
