During session 1 of the Ocala Breeders' March Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training, agent Liz Crow signed for an Uncle Mo colt (Hip 106) out of the back ring March 12 at $750,000. The colt will join the Brad Cox barn for BSW/Crow Colts Group and Spendthrift Farm.
"We have a big team and everyone on the team liked him," Crow said. "Katelyn Jackson, Ned Toffey, Seth Semkin, Daniel Toffey, and Brad Cox—everybody felt like he fit what we were looking for. It's a team effort coming up with our list."
Consigned by Pick View, out of the winning Candy Ride mare Canteen the bay youngster breezed an eighth-mile in :10 2/5 last week.
White Birch Farm bred the May-born colt in Kentucky, where he initially sold for $340,000 during the 2023 Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale to Castleton Way. He was then offered at Fasig-Tipton's The Saratoga Sale later that year, where Stock Thoroughbreds purchased him for $270,000.
Crow added: "We purchased a few 2-year-olds to fill out the group, it was hard to buy yearlings last year. We have a small group of 10, so this makes 11. We bought two here last year in April, Bergen, who won the Jimmy Winkfield Stakes in New York, and an Arrogate colt that hasn't started yet."
