New York Racing Association racing analyst Maggie Wolfendale reported on the social media platform X June 28 that a memorial service would be held for former Steve Asmussen assistant Toby Sheets at the Belmont Park Chaplaincy Center.

The memorial service will take place July 7 between 5:30-9 p.m. EST with a service scheduled for 7:30 pm that day. For those who cannot attend in person, the event will be livestreamed.
Sheets was on a vacation in Greece when he was found dead in the country June 16. Coroners disclosed that the 55-year-old had died of drowning.
