The September thoroughbred meet at Los Alamitos will begin Friday, Sept. 13.
The six-day season will continue through Sunday, Sept. 22 with racing conducted on a Friday-Sunday basis both weeks (Sept. 13-15 and 20-22). Post time will be 1 p.m.
The meet will include a pair of stakes worth a combined $200,000.
The second day of the season - Saturday, Sept. 14 - will feature the $75,000 E.B. Johnston Stakes for older horses bred or sired in California at one mile.
The more lucrative of the two stakes is the $125,000 Dark Mirage for older fillies and mares. The one-mile race will be run Saturday, Sept. 21.
Track gates—including Burgart's and Vessels Club—will open at 9:30 a.m. General parking is free with grandstand admission $3 ($2 for seniors).
The wagering menu includes the Pick Six -- with the traditional 70%-30% split - a pair of Pick 4's -- races 2-5 and the final four races -- as well as the popular Players' Pick 5 -- a 50-cent minimum wager with a reduced 14% takeout rate which is offered on the first five races.
The Los Alamitos Racing Association will seed the Pick Six with $10,000 Saturday, Sept. 14 and Saturday, Sept. 21 provided there is no carryover.
In addition to the Dark Mirage, the Sept. 21 program will feature a live money handicapping contest with two seats available to the 2025 National Handicapping Championship in Las Vegas.
