Kelce Scores First Win as Owner With Swift Delivery

Three-time Super Bowl-winning tight end Travis Kelce recorded his first win as an owner June 22 when Swift Delivery swept to a two-length score in a second-level allowance contest at Woodbine. Kelce owns Swift Delivery, a 4-year-old son of Not This Time, in partnership with owners Gary Barber, Team Valor International, Bruce Zoldan, and Steven Rocco. The National Football League star bought an ownership stake in Swift Delivery last August ahead of the gelding's stakes debut in the Toronto Cup, where he finished second. Swift Delivery, trained by Hall of Famer Mark Casse, had won two races, including a 16 1/2-length maiden romp, prior to Kelce buying into the gelding. "I had one of the best times ever at the Derby," Kelce said during a Sept. 4 episode of the New Heights Podcast that he co-hosts alongside his brother and fellow Super Bowl champion, Jason. "I was like, 'Man, it would be fun to get involved and see one of your horses in a race. It seems like it would be a fun thing to be a part of.' "I got on board because it was fun, and I could team up with a good friend (Kelce is friends with Alex and Bruce Zoldan) of mine."
