Jockey Kingscote Receives Six-Month Hong Kong License

British jockey Richard Kingscote will join Andrea Atzeni and Harry Bentley in Hong Kong next season, with the Epsom Derby-winning rider receiving a six-month license to ride from the July 17, 2025 until Feb. 17, 2026. Kingscote had a short stint in Hong Kong earlier this year, with the 38-year-old recording four winners from 42 rides over a six-week period, which included a 157/1 treble on the all-weather at Sha Tin in March. He will join longer-term members of the Hong Kong weighing room, Atzeni and Bentley, who have both committed full-time to another season riding in Hong Kong. Atzeni is having his best season ever in Hong Kong, currently lying third in the Jockeys' Championship having ridden 54 winners and amassing HK$88,131,100 (approx. £8.2 million) in prize money. Bentley, who has ridden 30 winners so far this campaign, began riding in Hong Kong in 2021 and will mark his fifth year riding in the territory next season. Kingscote rode Desert Crown (GB) to victory in the 2022 Epsom Derby (G1) for trainer Sir Michael Stoute and has previously ridden in Australia, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, France, Bahrain, and Turkey.
