Mindframe New No. 1 in NTRA Top Thoroughbred Poll

Following a signature victory against top competition in the $940,000 Stephen Foster Stakes (G1) at Churchill Downs June 28, Repole Stable and St. Elias Stables' Mindframe is the new No. 1 in the National Thoroughbred Racing Association's Top Thoroughbred Poll. Stalking the pace throughout the 1 1/8-mile contest, the 4-year-old son of Constitution was powerful in the lane and outfinished 2024 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) winner and champion 3-year-old male Sierra Leone by a length with multiple graded stakes winner First Mission and 2024 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Mystik Dan rounding out the superfecta. The victory rewarded Mindframe with 11 first-place votes from the national media who vote on the weekly NTRA poll, tying him with Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes (G1) winner Sovereignty for the most of that honor. In total, Mindframe received 264 points in the vote, elevating him above Metropolitan Handicap (G1) winner Raging Torrent for the top spot with Sovereignty in third. Sierra Leone's solid bounce-back performance after finishing third in the New Orleans Classic Stakes (G2) at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots placed him back in the top 10, ranking seventh overall. Last year's Horse of the Year, Thorpedo Anna, jumped from the seventh spot back into fifth after returning to the winner's circle Saturday in the Fleur de Lis Stakes (G2).
