Lanaluah won the $150,000 Texas Thoroughbred Association Futurity July 5 at Lone Star Park to become freshman sire Beau Liam 's first stakes winner.

Owned and trained by Austin Gustafson, the Oklahoma-bred 2-year-old filly entered the stakes for TTA sale graduates off a debut second, beaten just a neck in a June 14 maiden special weight at Lone Star.

Breaking from the 10 post in a field of 12 Saturday, Lanaluah emerged from the pack and dueled through fractions of :22.22 and :45.90. She won the pace duel and pulled away in the lane to post a 1 3/4-length victory. Her final time for 5 1/2 furlongs over a muddy, sealed track was 1:05.72. Freddy Manrrique rode the winner.

Beau Liam stands at Airdrie Stud near Midway, Ky. He hails from the Unbridled's Song sire line as a son of 2015 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner Liam's Map . Beau Liam's stud fee has stood at $6,000 since he was first introduced as a stallion.

Lanaluah is the first foal out of the Bernardini mare Stella Grace. She was bred in Oklahoma by Scott K. Pierce and Equine Futures. Gustafson purchased her for $45,000 at this year's TTA 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale from Bryan Ford Training Stable consignment.

Beau Liam has 78 named foals in his first crop and entered Saturday ranked fifth in progeny earnings among all North American freshman sires.
