Numerous incumbents were also re-elected.

Conrad Bandoroff, Rowland Hancock, and Craig Brogden have been elected to the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association and Kentucky Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders board of directors, the organization announced on social media July 22. Members of our board serve three-year terms and are elected by the full membership of the organization.

Bandoroff is vice president of Denali Stud; Hancock is a Thoroughbred owner and breeder based out of Paducah, Ky.; and Brogden is co-owner of Machmer Hall.

The KTA and KTOB noted that incumbents Ned Toffey, Michael Banahan, Price Bell, Dr. Natanya Nieman-McMahon, Dr. Stuart Brown, Fergus Galvin, Jeffrey Thornbury, Neil Pessin, Tommy Drury, and Paul McGee were reelected.

The organization thanked Craig Bandoroff, Anne Archer Hinkle, and T. Wayne Sweezey for their years of service.

The KTA and KTOB are trade organizations comprising owners, breeders, trainers, and associate members dedicated to influencing the Thoroughbred industry on local, state, and national levels, while continuing to promote Kentucky Thoroughbred racing and breeding.

Achievements of the KTA and KTOB include:

  • Partnering with the American Horse Council and National Thoroughbred Racing Association on legislative matters.
  • Increasing economic benefits to Kentucky breeders through the Breeders' Incentive Program.
  • Developing a strategic marketing plan for promoting Kentucky-breds.
  • Providing association group health insurance to eligible Kentucky employers.
  • Developing the Kentucky Thoroughbred Development Fund and continued efforts for protection of the KTDF.
