FanDuel TV hosted the sixth annual CARMAthon fundraiser on Saturday and the popular event raised in excess of $200,000 for Thoroughbred aftercare including a $25,000 donation from FanDuel.
"It is important to us to continue to give back to the horse racing industry through numerous charitable initiatives each year," said Andrew Moore, FanDuel TV's General Manager. "CARMA does tremendous work to help retired racehorses thrive in their second careers off of the track and we are thrilled to be able to support them in that mission."
The annual event showcased stories of retired racehorses thriving in second careers and the donations help fund CARMA's (California Retirement Management Account) grant program which offers assistance to more than 20 Thoroughbred aftercare charities.
The promotion of the CARMAthon fundraiser is one of many charitable initiatives supported by FanDuel throughout the year which includes Thoroughbred aftercare, the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF) and other causes that help enhance the safety and welfare of the human and equine athletes in the racing community.
