Legion Racing's Drexel Hill, runner-up to Good Cheer in the Kentucky Oaks (G1) at Churchill Downs, returned to the worktab Aug. 23 for the first time since the May 2 race.

The 3-year-old daughter of Bolt d'Oro had been sidelined following the Oaks after having a bone chip removed from one of her knees. Given time to rest at the farm, Drexel Hill joined trainer Whit Beckman's string at Saratoga Race Course earlier this summer. Continuing to step forward, Beckman gave the filly a nice, easy three furlongs in :38.12 over the Oklahoma Training Track Saturday morning.

"She looks fantastic," Beckman said. "She's been full of energy, looks great and happy. We went ahead and let her do a little three-eighths, 38 (seconds), pretty easily. Unpressured, just having fun."

No plans for a race are in place yet, as Beckman will give her the proper time to get back in top form.

"We'll pick a program depending on how fast she's getting ready and whether or not we match up with some 3-year-olds or go forward to next year," Beckman said. "We're just leaving that all up in the air for her now."

In the 1 1/8-mile Kentucky Oaks, Drexel Hill showed a terrific turn of foot while rallying from last to finish second at 32-1 odds beneath jockey Ben Curtis. Prior to that, she displayed similar form en route to victory in the Busher Stakes at Aqueduct Racetrack over a one-turn mile.

A $50,000 purchase by Legion Bloodstock at the 2023 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Drexel Hill has earned $456,520 in eight starts.

Her dam, Ascot Walk, is currently on offer in the Fasig-Tipton August Digital Sale in foal to 2023 Horse of the Year Cody's Wish . Consigned as Hip 1 by Turning Point Bloodstock, agent, she is a multiple stakes producer and 100% winner producer. Bidding for the 225 cataloged entries will close Aug. 26, beginning at 2 p.m. ET.
