Geoglyph, winner of the Satsuki Sho (G1) (Japanese Two Thousand Guineas) in 2022 and one of only two horses ever to beat the mighty Equinox, has been retired from racing and will stand at Yushun Stallion Station in Hokkaido.

It has been reported in Japan that the 6-year-old suffered an injury to his right foreleg, which would take a considerable amount of time to recover from.

Geoglyph was the first top-level winner for Shadai Stallion Station's 2016 U.S. champion sprinter Drefong when landing the Satsuki Sho, a race which was his most recent of three from 21 career starts. He finished a length in front of Japanese champion Equinox.

Bred by Northern Farm, he is the fourth foal out of the stakes-winning King Kamehameha mare Aromatico, who was third in the 2012 Shuka Sho and 2013 Queen Elizabeth II Cup (G1).

In the colors of Sunday Racing, Geoglyph would end up running all around the world, competing in Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, and finishing fifth in the most recent Breeders' Cup Mile (G1T) at Del Mar.

He had most recently appeared in Australia and finished last behind Via Sistina on his final outing in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (G1) at Randwick in April.
