Free Lifetime Starts for Thoroughbred Breeders Expanded
The free lifetime starts for Thoroughbred breeders service, which was launched earlier this year, has been expanded to include all registered racehorses as well as younger horses that are registered but have not reached the track. The service provides a complimentary race record for Thoroughbreds that is updated after each domestic or international start. "We were pleased to provide automatically updated free lifetime starts to breeders for the current foal crop, and I'm glad we were able to expand the service so quickly to include breeders with horses already racing," said Matt Iuliano, executive vice president and executive director, The Jockey Club. "As we hoped, the response to this initiative has been overwhelmingly positive." Following direct emails sent to breeders of record announcing this expansion, more than 8,500 horses are now enrolled, representing approximately 2,250 unique breeders. "We expect these numbers will continue to grow as requests to join this service have remained steady," said Iuliano. "It's encouraging to see so many breeders interested in following their horses' careers, and we hope that making it free and easy to do so will prove beneficial for the horses when their racing careers are over." Breeders may subscribe to this service during the registration application process. Breeders of Thoroughbreds already registered, including those currently racing, can enroll by completing the Breeder Race Records Request available at registry.jockeyclub.com. Upon subscribing, breeders will receive an email with a link to all eligible horses, each linking to an Equineline.com Product 9 (Lifetime Starts in Past Performance Format) report. This service for breeders to receive free Lifetime Starts in Past Performance Format was developed by TJC Innovations in conjunction with The Jockey Club Registry.
