The Inglis Digital USA October (Early) Sale concluded Oct. 1 with a 74% clearance rate. Leading the way was the broodmare prospect Presha, who sold to Headley Bell for $95,000 from Tessa Walden's Evergreen Equine consignment.
The 3-year-old daughter of leading third-crop sire Omaha Beach was a precocious runner as a juvenile, selling at auction for $390,000, then winning a maiden special weight at Horseshoe Indianapolis by a front-running 3 1/4 lengths. Two starts later, Presha finished third in the Tepin Stakes, just three-quarters of a length behind winner Laurelin.
"We considered Presha outstanding value, as she was stakes-placed in the Tepin, beaten three-quarters of a length to Laurelin, who is 5-for-5 and heading to the Breeders' Cup," Bell said. "She is from a foundation family in Dehere, and by Omaha Beach, out of a Distorted Humor mare. We are pleased to own her, and she will likely be bred to Oscar Performance."
The October (Early) sale saw 46 of 62 horses sell at the close of trade Oct. 1, grossing $321,500. The average price was $6,989, with a median of $3,000.
"We had some good trade today, with activity from the top to the bottom," said Inglis Digital USA CEO Kyle Wilson. "As always, we're here to help with private sales. Thanks to all of our buyers and sellers."
Offerings that finished under their reserves Oct. 1 are still available to purchase on the Inglis Digital USA website.
