Love Cervere Heads Glen Cove for Red-Hot Clement Barn
The red-hot Miguel Clement barn sends out the improving Into Mischief filly Love Cervere for her graded debut in the $175,000 Glen Cove Stakes (G3T) for 3-year-old fillies Oct. 11 at Aqueduct Racetrack. Clement rides a wave of momentum entering the Glen Cove, having landed a graded stakes double last weekend at the Big A with 2-year-olds Bottas and Intricate Spirit in the Pilgrim (G2T) and Futurity (G3T) stakes, respectively. Love Cervere, a homebred for co-owner Edward Seltzer, exits a career-best 101 Equibase Speed Figure performance with her runner-up finish in an allowance race at Kentucky Downs Sept. 6. Circling the field in a titanic effort, the filly closed from last to fall three-quarters of a length shy of catching the victorious Saturday Flirt, who stopped the timer in a track-record time of 1:14.01 for 6 1/2 furlongs. Prior to her Kentucky Downs race, Love Cervere had taken two listed stakes sprinting on the lawn, including the Take The A Train Stakes over the outer turf at Aqueduct in May. Manny Franco takes over the mount from Joel Rosario, who will be in Kentucky to ride the Keeneland Saturday card. Clement will also saddle last-out New York-bred allowance victress Annascaul for Waterville Lake Stables. The John Terranova-trained Italian Soiree could be Love Cervere's biggest threat. A winner of Saratoga Race Course's Coronation Cup Stakes (G3T) two starts back, the Uncle Mo filly was a disappointing 11th in the Sept. 6 Music City Stakes (G2T) at Kentucky Downs.
