Fasig-Tipton Flash Sale Offers Iron Orchard, Haulin Ice
Bidding is now open for the Fall Flash Sale on Fasig-Tipton Digital, a boutique two-entry auction offering two fillies that have recently won Breeders' Cup prep races. Bidding will close Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. ET on last-out graded stakes winners Iron Orchard and Haulin Ice. Iron Orchard, Hip 1 in the Fall Flash Sale, is an undefeated 2-year-old daughter of Authentic who won the Oct. 4 Frizette Stakes (G1), a Breeders' Cup "Dirt Dozen" race, earning her $30,000 in entry-fee credits toward the Oct. 31 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) at Del Mar. Prior to that, she won the Seeking the Ante Stakes at Saratoga Race Course by 6 3/4 lengths and her debut at Saratoga by 5 1/2 lengths. Her deep female family includes grade 1 winners Aloha West, Ogygian, and Honour and Glory. Iron Orchard is consigned by her trainer Danny Gargan, as agent. She earned 10 qualifying points toward next spring's Kentucky Oaks (G1) with her victory in the Frizette. Owned by CSLR Racing and R.A. Hill Stable, Iron Orchard was bred by Pine Ridge Stable out of the Brethren mare Onebrethatatime. She was bought for $500,000 at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training. Haulin Ice, Hip 2, is a 4-year-old filly who captured the Princess Rooney Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park on Sept. 20, a "Win and You're In" for the Nov. 1 Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1). This year, she has won five stakes races, including the Vagrancy Stakes (G3) in May, where she defeated graded stakes winner R Disaster and grade 1 winner Leslie's Rose. Haulin Ice has career earnings of $958,650 to date. Haulin Ice is consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent (point of contact Steve Castagnola). C2 Racing Stable, Paul Braverman, Miller Racing, and Timothy Pinch purchased the Arkansas-bred daughter of Coal Front last year and have experienced her most recent success with trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. Joseph also trained last year's Rooney winner Soul of an Angel, co-owned by C2, who went on to win the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint and be crowned champion female sprinter. "This is one of the more exciting flash sales that we have ever conducted on Fasig-Tipton Digital," said Leif Aaron, Fasig-Tipton director of digital sales. "These two fillies are in peak form and will be leading contenders in their respective Breeders' Cup races. Everyone in our game dreams of winning a Breeders' Cup race, and our Fall Flash Sale provides two immediate opportunities to do so."
