Gun Runner , the sire of 15 millionaires and 11 career grade 1 winners, leads Three Chimneys Farm's roster for 2026 and will stand next year for a fee of $250,000, the farm reported Oct. 17.

So far this year, Gun Runner—a 12-year-old son of Candy Ride —has sired 11 graded stakes winners and three grade 1 winners, including 2024 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) winner and champion 3-year-old male Sierra Leone , multiple grade 1 winner Locked, and Brant, who was a $3 million sale topper at the Ocala Breeders' Sales March 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale. In total, Gun Runner is the sire of 17 stakes winners and 32 stakes horses in 2025.

Yearlings by Gun Runner that sold at auction this year averaged nearly $1 million, including 17 yearlings that sold for $1 million or more. He also became the first sire in Keeneland history to sire the first four session toppers at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, highlighted by a $3.3 million colt that topped the sale.

Three Chimneys chairman Goncalo Torrealba said: "Gun Runner is continuing to prove our dreams can become a reality. Three Chimneys and our partners continue to breed our best mares to him, which we believe will further his influence on the breed."

Second-year sire and millionaire Newgate  will stand for $17,500.

"Into Mischief's son Newgate, who won the grade 1 Santa Anita Handicap, competing among the best of his generation, and defeating eight grade 1 winners during his career, was extremely popular with breeders," said Doug Cauthen, Three Chimneys board member. "Newgate is one of the best-looking horses you will ever see."

Three Chimneys' homebred Gun Pilot , winner of the $1 million Churchill Downs Stakes (G1) in 2024 and earner of more than $1 million, enters his second year of stud duty.

"He is very much like his sire Gun Runner—scopey and strong. He bred a full book of mares in his first season, and we want to continue the momentum by offering great value on him," said Rebecca Nicholson, director of stallion nominations. Gun Pilot will stand for $12,500.

Volatile , the sire of 10 stakes performers this year, four of which were graded performers, will stand for a fee of $10,000. Among his leading earners this year are grade 1-placed graded stakes winner Tip Top Thomas, who set a Horseshoe Indianapolis track record in the Indiana Derby (G3); Southwest Stakes (G3) victor Speed King; and, promising 2-year-old Igniter, who is targeting the Remsen Stakes (G2).

Rounding out the roster is Funtastic , who hails from the family of Gun Runner. His top runner this year, Funtastic Again, captured the Dominion Day Stakes (G3) at Woodbine. A grade 1-placed performer, he boasts a 5-2-2-record from 13 starts and more than $500,000 in earnings. Funtastic will stand for $2,500.

Sky Mesa, winner of the 2002 Hopeful Stakes (G1) for John Oxley, has been pensioned from stud duty. The son of Pulpit entered stud at Three Chimneys Farm in 2004 and quickly established himself as a consistent and versatile sire. His impressive legacy includes 26 graded stakes winners, 80 black-type winners, 159 black-type horses, and five champions worldwide.

Among his notable progeny are 2014 Canadian champion grass horse Dynamic Sky, 2017 Canadian champion female sprinter and champion older mare Ami's Mesa, 2018 Canadian champion 3-year-old colt Sky Promise, and grade 1 winners General Quarters, Perfect Alibi, and Sky Diva.
