Old Friends Announces Partnership With MyRacehorse

Old Friends, the Thoroughbred retirement farm in Georgetown, Ky. is pleased to announce a new partnership with MyRacehorse that brings together the passionate supporters of two organizations dedicated to celebrating the sport of Thoroughbred Racing and its athletes. "I believe MyRacehorse and Old Friends represent all that is good about the sport of Thoroughbred Racing," said John Nicholson, President and CEO of Old Friends about the new partnership. "Both give people a personal and totally up-close experience, not only in the sport, but with the horses themselves. For those who love this game, what could possibly be better? We couldn't be more energized and enthusiastic about this very good and natural partnership." After their farm tour, Old Friends visitors will now have the chance to learn about racehorse ownership and help Old Friends when they purchase a microshare in one of MyRacehorse's racehorses. "Every Old Friends tour will now include an opportunity for visitors to join the MyRacehorse community," said MyRacehorse's Founder Michael Behrens. "When someone creates an account with MyRacehorse, we'll make a donation back to Old Friends, creating a lasting funding stream for aftercare." Founded in 2018, MyRacehorse provides racing fans a chance to buy into a racehorse by selling affordable microshares that allow them to experience what being an owner has to offer. Also educating its owners on the stages of a horse's life, MyRacehorse has allowed thousands to get involved with successful horses such as Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Authentic and Preakness S. (G1) winner Seize The Grey among many others. To celebrate the beginning of the partnership, Old Friends and MyRacehorse is hosting 'Night Out With Champions' at Old Friends on October 24, 2025. Taking place from 5:30 to 8:30pm, the event will include live music, an online auction and guided mini tours. A buffet dinner served by Proud Mary's BBQ and beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available. Racing personalities such as Wesley Ward, Victor Espinoza, and Edgar Prado will also be on site with others to be announced closer to the event.
