Sams Named Lane's End Director of Stallion Operations
Bernie Sams will be bringing his decades of experience to Lane's End as the director of stallion operations, the farm announced Oct. 24. "It's exciting to bring on a longtime friend like Bernie to quarterback our stallion division as we continue to build out the team," said Bill Farish of the hire. In addition, Will Farish III, Ray Smoot, and Casey Klein will be joining Jill McCully and Chris Knehr on the sales team. Sams notably spent more than 20 years at Claiborne as the bloodstock and stallion manager, managing the careers of accomplished stallions such as Pulpit, Arch, and War Front to name a few. Prior to his tenure at Claiborne, Sams had worked at Haras de Roiville in France, Overbrook Farm, and Gainesway, among others. "This is a tremendous opportunity," said Sams, "and I'm looking forward to working with the team at Lane's End and the exciting roster of stallions."
