Freirich’s $50K Match Supports BC Charitable Campaign

Freirich's Random Acts of Kindness is sponsoring the TCA Bash Oct. 31.

Racehorse owner and philanthropist Ken Freirich will double the power of all donations received—up to $50,000—during the Breeders Cup "Champions Give Back" campaign, which concludes Nov. 1 at the Breeders' Cup World Championships at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. This $50,000 match supports the campaign to raise funds and awareness for Breeders' Cup Charities which is dedicated to generating meaningful, lasting support for key industry non-profits and the broader Thoroughbred racing community.

The campaign is led by an annual donation of all royalties received by Breeders' Cup on merchandise sales. Fans can shop the collection at BreedersCupShop.com and support "Champions Give Back" by texting BCWC to +1 (855) 800-4975 to donate, or by visiting BreedersCup.com/Charities

Freirich, a retired entrepreneur/CEO and philanthropist, believes in making the world a better place and doing regular random acts of kindness. He made a $500,000 multiyear gift this fall to Breeders' Cup Charities with the hopes of inspiring significant giving in the Thoroughbred industry and also had done a $100,000 match for the Breeders Cup 1st Annual Day of Giving this summer which raised a total of $200,963 in 24 hours.

Also a songwriter, drummer and founder of the music group Random Acts of Kindness and the label Better World Records, Freirich wrote the lyrics for the new single "I Wish" and was executive producer of the music. "I Wish" is being released today on music streaming platforms worldwide. The song is an angelic ballad about inspiring hope and positivity around the world. Using lyrics that are meaningful, eloquent and that create strong imagery, the verses and chorus have a powerful, graceful elegance. The last single from Random Acts of Kindness, "Free to Roam," was a Billboard and MediaBase Adult Contemporary Top 20 hit.

On Friday, Oct. 31, "I Wish" will debut live for the first time at the Breeders' Cup World Championships at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, performed by Random Acts of Kindness featuring the San Diego Children's Choir. "It's Future Stars Friday for the horses," said Freirich. "As a Breeders' Cup partner, I thought it would be great to partner with a youth choir group located near the Del Mar racetrack to support the local community and highlight the amazing talent of the choir. These kids will be the vocal and music superstars of tomorrow." Channing Kim, who has been with the choir for 10 years, will have the honor of singing the national anthem at Breeders' Cup that day as well.

"We're so proud of our young singers for bringing the voices of San Diego to the Breeders' Cup World Championships to perform 'I Wish,' an inspiring new song written and produced by Ken Freirich as part of his Random Acts of Kindness initiative," said Carrie Musick Cottriall, executive director of the San Diego Children's Choir. "It's a wonderful celebration of our community, our shared love of music, and the power of children's voices to inspire audiences everywhere. We're deeply grateful to Ken and the Breeders' Cup for making this moment possible."

"'I Wish' is a song that can change the world," said Freirich. "Through very deep and meaningful lyrics and a series of wishes, the song gives us hope at a time when we all need it. Multiple versions of the song will be released later this year using various domestic and international children's choirs as part of a global effort to share its message through the voices of children. Better World Records is also creating partnerships with each of these charitable organizations to provide ongoing funding through music revenue and personal contributions from the label CEO."

To celebrate the release of "I Wish" and support Thoroughbred charities, Ken Freirich's Random Acts of Kindness will be sponsoring the Thoroughbred Charities of America Bash on October 31 at the Hilton Del Mar.

Freirich will attend a check presentation celebrating funds raised this year for Breeders' Cup Charities on Nov. 1 which will include designated charity representatives. For 2025, Breeders' Cup Charities will proudly support multiple established charities, including but not limited to, the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund, the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation, and the Race Track Chaplaincy of America.
