Taste Of Heaven Tops Magic Millions Digital Sale
Well-related mare Taste Of Heaven topped the first Magic Millions Digital Sale Oct. 30. The daughter of the blue hen Shantha's Choice, Taste Of Heaven was secured by New Zealand interests having been purchased by Milan Park Stud for AU$350,000 (US$229,423, AU$1=$US0.66). Offered by Yarraman Park Stud, the Encosta De Lago mare is a half sister to former champion racehorse and sire Redoute's Choice (AUS). The proven group producer is also a sister to Manhattan Rain and half sister to Platinum Scissors. The mare, who has produced the Canadian grade 3 winner Heavenly Curlin (Curlin), is in foal to Coolmore's young sire Home Affairs (AUS). "We, along with our partners in Taste of Heaven decided to offer a top class mare for sale through the new Magic Millions Digital platform and we are extremely happy with the result," Yarraman's general manager Matt Scown said. "From the time we began discussing offering the mare through the platform, through to during the sale and now post sale, the whole process with Magic Millions Digital has been seamless. "We will continue to support the Magic Millions Digital platform moving forward," Scown added. The unraced So You Think (AUS) 3-year-old filly You Are Correct was another lot to receive significant buyer attention. Offered by Anderson Racing without reserve, You Are Correct was purchased by bloodstock agent Will Johnson for $47,500. You Are Correct, from the imported stakes winner Perfect Trust, is a half sister to Queensland Derby (G1) winner Magicool. The unreserved dispersal for the Robinson family in Western Australia was headlined by the AU$35,000 sale of a Playing God (AUS) yearling colt to Michael Lane Racing and TMJ Bloodstock. The colt is from Tricky Trix, a five-time winning half sister to the family's group 1 winner and AU$1.4 million earner Trix Of The Trade. Overall, the inaugural Magic Millions Digital Sale notched a gross of AU$755,150 (US$ 494,997) with 50 lots selling at an average price of AU$15,103 (US$9,900). "We are extremely pleased with the results of the first sale and feedback regarding the platform has been very positive," Magic Millions head of digital Bryce Bevan said. "The sale has grossed over $750,000 with a clearance rate in excess of 71%, which will only continue to rise as some more private sales are finalized." "We had all aspects of the market represented, including bidders from each State and Territory in Australia as well as great overseas interest from New Zealand and several Asian jurisdictions."
