McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds announced Nov. 14 it will stand grade 2 winner Showcase for his first season at stud in 2026 at a fee of $5,000.
The now 3-year-old son of Uncle Mo bred by WinStar Farm sold for $300,000 during the 2023 Keeneland September Yearling Sale and was raced by Harrell Ventures. Trained by Hall of Famer Todd Pletcher, he broke his maiden at 2 on debut at Aqueduct Racetrack by 7 1/2 lengths and followed with a win in the Saratoga Special Stakes (G2) by 3 1/2 lengths over future graded stakes winners First Resort and Smoken Wicked.
Showcase would not race at 3—retiring undefeated in two starts—but Pletcher said he already had shown plenty of ability.
"Showcase had enormous ability combined with an explosive kick of speed. He was my best 2-year-old that year," Pletcher said. "He should be a huge asset to the New York breeding program, returning to Saratoga where he showed so much talent on the racetrack."
Showcase is out of the graded-placed stakes winner Buy Sell Hold, a daughter of Violence who won the Kentucky Juvenile Stakes and was third in the Miss Preakness Stakes (G3). Buy Sell Hold is a full sister to Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (G1) winner and top 10 second-crop sire Volatile . Buy Sell Hold's second dam is grade 1 winner and multiple stakes producer Lady Tak.
Showcase joins leading New York stallions Central Banker and Solomini and sophomore Provocateur on McMahon's roster.
