Lush Lips Returns in Mrs. Revere Stakes

Grade 1 winner Lush Lips (GB) returns in the $300,000 Mrs. Revere Stakes (G2T) at Churchill Downs Nov. 28 against a talented group of 3-year-old fillies. The 1 1/16-mile race is one of two graded stakes races on Friday's card, along with the featured $600,000 Clark Stakes (G2). Lush Lips will race in the colors of William Shively's Dixiana Farms after selling earlier this month for $3.7 million to Dixiana at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale. The daughter of Ten Sovereigns (IRE) put in a dazzling performance last time out to to win the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes (G1T) at Keeneland by 1 1/4 lengths under Tyler Gaffalione for her previous owners, Medallion Racing, Parkland Thoroughbreds, Hoffman Thoroughbreds, Mrs. Paul Shanahan, and Mrs. M. V. Magnier. Brendan Walsh resumed training duties of the filly, and she has been under his care since her arrival in the States last fall. Prior to her win in the Queen Elizabeth, she ran half a length behind Velocity in the Del Mar Oaks (G1T), and won the Tepin Stakes at Churchill Downs June 28, finishing 3 3/4 lengths ahead of Princess Attitude, who is also entered in the Mrs. Revere. Lush Lips will face stakes winners Classic Q and Somethinabouther—the second- and third-place finishers in the Oct. 24 Valley View Stakes (G2T). Classic Q rallied from the back of the pack under Jose Ortiz to finish second, a head over Somethinabouther—whose odds will be much lower this time out. Gary Barber, Blue Crevalle Racing, and Eclipse Thoroughbred Partner's Classic Q ran a hard-fought fourth in the $1,867,100 Music City Stakes (G2T) at Kentucky Downs behind eventual Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1T) winner Shisospicy. Prior to that, she finished a neck behind Daisy Flyer in the Lake George Stakes (G2T) at Saratoga Race Course. Brad Cox sends out Bracelet, who notched her second career win in an allowance race Oct. 24 at Keeneland—a race that now holds more merit after last weekend's racing results. Bracelet finished 1 3/4 lengths ahead of Princess Attitude and 2 3/4 lengths ahead of Love You Anyway—the latter of which finished a gallant second in the rescheduled Pebbles Stakes (G3T) Nov. 23 at Aqueduct Racetrack. Bill Mott enters Tranquility Lake Farm's recent allowance winner Table Flirt. The daughter of Constitution won an allowance race Sept. 27 at Churchill Downs. Three Chimney Farm's lightly raced Pretty Picture will look to build off her third-place finish in the Sands Point Stakes (G2T) last month at Aqueduct. She finished 1 3/4 lengths behind the runner-up Fast Market who was an early entry in the Mrs. Revere, but instead opted to stay in New York where she won the Pebbles Stakes last weekend.
