Worrie, Ferraro Top Standings as Finger Lakes Meet Ends
The 2025 live thoroughbred racing season at Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack (FLGR) came to an end on Wednesday, November 26. The meet concluded with Crescendo's Rein taking the feature race of the Closing Day card. Crescendo's Rein completed the five and one-half furlong distance in a time of 1:04.41. The Charlton Baker-trainee chased down Blamicker to win the seventh race by a margin of three-quarters of a length. Jockey Reylu Gutierrez earned his fourth win of the closing day card aboard the 4-year-old gelding. Gutierrez had a total of seven victories over the last two days of the FLGR season. Andre Worrie was the leading jockey in 2025. Worrie finished the meet with 100 victories to claim his second rider title. He was also top FLGR top jockey in 2022. M. Anthony Ferraro registered his second consecutive FLGR training title and fourth overall. The veteran trainer finished the season with a total of 68 victories. Trainer Paul Barrow reached a milestone on Tuesday, September 9. He notched his 1000th career win when Hair On Fire scored the fourth race victory under Jeremias Flores. Barrow and Flores both had multiple victories on Wednesday. FLGR will remain in operation during the winter months for simulcast wagering with up to seven tracks per day. Live thoroughbred action will resume in the spring with the start of the 2026 meet.
