Petit Appointed Head of AKTEM’s Bloodstock Team
Recently announced as a new racehorse auction house in France, with its first sales scheduled for February 2026, AKTEM continues to build its team by welcoming Guy Petit as Bloodstock Director and Mégane Martins as Communications and Development Director. Guy Petit appointed Head of Bloodstock team A bloodstock agent for more than thirty years, Guy Petit is a well-known figure in the sales ring and the breeding world. He has unearthed numerous talents in the sales who have then performed at the highest level on French and international racecourses. Highly active in France, he has notably guided many foreign clients in sourcing strong National Hunt prospects destined for England and Ireland. His greatest successes in the discipline include multiple Group 1 winners such as Min, Cheltenian, Thousand Stars, Diamond Carl and Royale Pagaille, as well as the winner of the legendary Grand National at Aintree, Mon Môme, and more recently Nietzsche Has, now a stallion in France. On the flat, his track record includes Group 1 winners Rougir and Tribhuvan. In total, Guy Petit has sourced 65 individual Group winners for 120 Group victories. After many successful years, Guy Petit now turns to a new project as he takes the lead of AKTEM's Bloodstock team: "I am delighted by this new challenge, which allows me to move to the other side of the fence. Supporting a young and ambitious profile like Sofiane Benaroussi—who is determined to implement new initiatives for the benefit of the industry—really appealed to me, and I am thrilled to invest myself alongside him. My extensive address book of both buyer and vendor allows me to confidently embrace this new adventure and bring my expertise, particularly in the National Hunt sphere, by offering new opportunities to breeders and owners with a service that complements the existing market." Mégane Martins Appointed Head of Communication and Development On the communication side, Mégane Martins joins the team to lead the agency's strategy and development. After a full-year internship with ARQANA Racing Club, she gained hands-on experience at Écurie des Monceaux before returning to the Deauville sales agency within the communication and marketing department. In recent years, she has applied her expertise to the charity Au-Delà Des Pistes, helping improve traceability for retired racehorses and contributing to the organization's growth, while also managing communication for several stud farms and participating in the development of GALORAMA through video reports and editorial work for the magazine. Mégane Martins commented: "I am honored to join the AKTEM team and lead the Communication department. I return to an environment I know well and appreciate, and I am delighted to put my skills to work once again in this sector. My various experiences give me a fresh perspective on sales organization and allow me to innovate to enhance the quality of care and service for both horses and actors. We are committed to offering a new, high-quality service with a truly convivial, modern and professional atmosphere to conduct sales in the best possible conditions." AKTEM President Sofiane Benaroussi added: "It is a real pleasure to welcome Guy Petit to the AKTEM team. His expertise and network, both in France and internationally, represent a major asset for a young auction house like ours. Highly active in the National Hunt sector, he brings strong skills to this segment of the market and will provide clients with the best possible support in enhancing the value of their horses. We are also delighted to welcome Mégane Martins to lead the agency's communication and support its growth. She brings extensive experience in this field, a broad range of skills acquired within the industry, and a young, innovative, dynamic profile."
