Share in Siyouni Tops Tattersalls Online December Sale
A 2% share in the Aga Khan Studs' leading sire Siyouni (FR) topped the Tattersalls Online December Sale when selling to TCT Bloodstock for 175,000 guineas (US$246,249, 1 guinea=US$1.39) Dec. 11. The Haras de Bonneval resident is responsible for 11 individual top-level winners, including this year's Poule d'Essai des Pouliches (G1) heroine Zarigana (GB), while his other leading performers include Sottsass (FR), Laurens (FR), St Mark's Basilica (FR), Paddington (GB), and Tahiyra (IRE). Also, the broodmare sire of Vincent O'Brien National Stakes (G1) victor Zavateri (IRE), Siyouni is due to stand the upcoming breeding season for €150,000. A breeding right to Darley's exciting young sire, Palace Pier (GB), sold for 80,000 guineas to Alex Elliott. The European champion miler's first crop includes Lowther Stakes (G2) winner Royal Fixation and group 3 winners Dr Omran and A Bit of Spirit. A breeding right to Sands of Mali (FR) sold to Roalso for 74,000 guineas. The young stallion sired this year's Commonwealth Cup (G1) winner Time For Sandals (IRE). Sands of Mali was bought last month by Yeomanstown Stud, where he will stand at a fee of €22,500 in 2026. The Tattersalls Online December Sale realized a turnover of 732,100 guineas (US$1,030,165) from 55 lots, averaging 13,311 guineas (US$18,730). The next Tattersalls Online sale takes place Jan. 20-21.
