Multiple graded stakes-winning stallion Domestic Product saw his first reported foal Jan. 23 at Hidden Brook Farm when the Violence mare She Caught My Eye produced a bay colt.
"It's her first foal but he has good bone and the substance is there," said the mare's owner Sergio de Sousa. "We're very happy with him."
Purchased for $170,000 at the 2025 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, She Caught My Eye hails from the family of Santa Catarina, Caracaro , and Culture Vulture.
A homebred for Klaravich Stables out of the Paynter mare Goods and Services, Domestic Product's career highlights include victories in the 2024 H. Allen Jerkens Memorial Stakes (G1) and the Dwyer Stakes (G3)—mirroring the accomplishments of his sire Practical Joke . Trained by Chad Brown, Domestic Product also won the 2024 Tampa Bay Derby (G3), placed in the 2024 Holy Bull Stakes (G3), and showed in that fall's Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1). He retired with a 4-2-1 record in 10 starts for earnings of $819,200.
Domestic Product stands alongside his sire at Coolmore's Ashford Stud near Versailles, Ky. He was well-received in his first season at stud, covering 224 mares to be among the top 10 North American sires by 2025 mares bred, according to The Jockey Club records. He will stand the 2026 season at Ashford for $25,000, stands and nurses.
