Blue Diamond Stud has reported the arrival of the first foal by its homebred classic heroine and three-time group 1 winner Nashwa. The 2022 Prix de Diane (G1) winner produced a colt by Dubawi.

The daughter of Frankel  won the French classic as well as the 2022 Nassau Stakes (G1) and the 2023 Falmouth Stakes (G1). She also placed in the 2022 Epsom Oaks (G1), 2023 International Stakes (G1), 2023 Irish Champion Stakes (G1), 2022 Prix de l'Opera (G1), and a second running of the Nassau Stakes in 2023.

Her owner/breeder, Imad Alsagar, said: "We're delighted with Nashwa's first foal, a good, strong colt with an attractive head and plenty of quality. Nashwa is extremely special to us as a homebred champion from a family that we continue to develop. She will now return to Dubawi."

Nashwa is a half sister to Nebras, a son of Dubawi who landed the listed Quebec Stakes at Lingfield in December. The gelding remains in training with John and Thady Gosden this year.

Their dam, Princess Loulou, has a yearling brother to Nashwa named Nasheed and is currently in foal to Dubawi. The Pivotal mare is down to visit Sea The Stars this season.
