Tattersalls Releases Guineas Breeze-Up Sale Catalog
The catalog for the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze-Up and Horses in Training Sale is now available online, with a total of 201 breeze-up 2-year-olds and 151 horses in training set to come under the hammer. The sale will take place April 29-30, with the breeze on Newmarket's Rowley Mile set for 9 a.m. on the opening day. The horses-in-training section will be offered from 9:30 a.m. April 30, followed immediately by the breeze-up lots. The headline lots include: • A Blackbeard (IRE) half brother to grade 2 winner Eternal Hope (Lot 292). • A Starspangledbanner (AUS) half brother to Leopardstown Two Thousand Guineas Trial winner Battle Cry, out of the listed-winning I'll Have Another (181). • A St Mark's Basilica (FR) half brother to Lowther Stakes (G2) scorer Miss Amulet (264). • A filly from the first crop of Arc (G1) winner Torquator Tasso (GER) out of the Galileo (IRE) mare Flying, a sister to group 1 winners Misty For Me and Ballydoyle (163). In total, 40 represented sires have already produced group or grade 1 winners, including Acclamation (GB), Blue Point (IRE), Camelot (GB), Churchill (IRE), Dark Angel (IRE), Ghaiyyath (IRE), Gleneagles (IRE), Havana Grey (GB), Invincible Spirit (IRE), Kodiac (GB), New Bay (GB), No Nay Never (IRE), Oasis Dream (GB), Sea The Moon (GER), Showcasing (GB), Sioux Nation, Space Blues (IRE), Starman (GB), and Study of Man (IRE). American-based stallions American Pharoah, Daredevil, Girvin, Munnings, and Practical Joke also feature, alongside 13 first-crop sires including Bayside Boy (IRE), Caturra (IRE), Dubawi Legend (IRE), Minzaal (IRE), Naval Crown (GB), Perfect Power (IRE), Persian Force (IRE), Space Traveller (GB), State of Rest (IRE), Texas (FR), and Thunder Moon (IRE). Buyers are further incentivized with 18 fillies eligible for the Great British Bonus Scheme, nine qualified for French premiums, and a number entered for Scandinavian and Tattersalls-backed race series. The horses-in-training section is headed by vendors Consign Ltd. (23 lots), Jamie Railton (22), and Castlebridge (20), while leading owner-breeders Juddmonte, Godolphin, and Shadwell are also well represented. Juddmonte's draft includes the well-bred colts Summons (by Sea The Stars (IRE)), Inform (by Oasis Dream (GB)), and Sarpedon, a Kingman (GB) full brother to Hampton Court Stakes (G3) scorer Sangarius.
