F-T Midlantic 2-Year-Olds in Training Catalog Online

Fasig-Tipton has cataloged 593 entries for its Midlantic May 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale, to be held May 18-19, at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Md. "Our consignors have shown tremendous support for Midlantic May this year, resulting in an outstanding catalog," said Paget Bennett, Fasig-Tipton's Midlantic director of sales. "Growth in both numbers and sire power makes this one of our strongest editions to date." Recent graduates include Kentucky Oaks (G1) hopeful Explora, featured on this year's cover, winning the Honeybee Stakes (G3) at Oaklawn Park earlier this year. A graduate of last year's Midlantic May sale, Explora won the Oak Leaf Stakes (G2) as a juvenile and was second in both the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) and the Del Mar Debutante Stakes (G1). She is joined on the cover by graded stakes winners A Fine Chardonnay, recent winner of the Beaumont Stakes (G2); Charlene's Dream, a multiple graded stakes winner last year including Beverly D. Stakes (G2T); Ground Support, winner of the 2025 Miss Grillo Stakes (G2T) and placed in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1T); and Mendelssohn Bay, winner of this year's Firebreak Stakes (G3) at Meydan Racecourse. The under-tack show will be held over three sessions, May 12-14. Each under-tack session will begin at 8 a.m. ET. The 151st Preakness Stakes (G1) will be held at Laurel Park, May 16, and the sale will follow May 18-19. Each sale session will begin at 11 a.m. This year's under-tack show will be held in a new format, with untimed workouts and limited use of the riding crop. Fasig-Tipton will not time the workouts, and no official times will be recorded or published. Additional details about the new under-tack show format are available here. "We are pleased to present our under-tack show in a new format in 2026, offering untimed workouts and reduced whip use," Bennett said. "These updates are designed to better showcase a horse's natural athleticism, as well as help more horses transition smoothly from the sales ring to the racetrack." Bennett continued: "We experimented with this format at last year's sale, which yielded tremendous results. Two of the graded stakes winners on this year's catalog cover, A Fine Chardonnay and Ground Support, were sold off untimed workouts." The catalog is now online and will be available via the Equineline Sales Catalog app. Print catalogs will be available beginning April 20.
