T.I.P. Announces 2026 Championship Updates

They include a Thoroughbred Premier Series Preview Show.

The Jockey Club Thoroughbred Incentive Program (T.I.P.) today announced updates to the 2026 T.I.P. Championships, including a Thoroughbred Premier Series Preview Show and an enhanced exhibitor experience.

Thoroughbred Premier Series Preview Show heralds a new series of Thoroughbred-only horse shows that T.I.P. will sponsor in 2027 featuring multiple disciplines at locations across the United States. The preview classes feature a $5,000 Hunter Classic and a $5,000 Jumper Classic for Championships-qualified horses, and novice rider classes and green horse classes, which do not require Championships qualification. A division list with more information is available at tjctip.com/About/CSF.

"Since its inception in 2011, T.I.P. has celebrated Thoroughbreds' athleticism, versatility, and promise in the sporthorse world," said Kristin Werner, deputy general counsel and director of industry initiatives for The Jockey Club and administrator of T.I.P. "This new premier show series is a level up and will highlight the value of Thoroughbreds as sporthorses."

Also new this year are a horseback trail ride on Wednesday and an on-foot trail walk on Friday -- both throughout the trails of Stable View. These exhibitor events are in addition to the other fun classes and social events offered at the championship show, such as the welcome party, costume classes, graze and gaze, and hobby horse competition.

"Stable View is a fantastic venue, and they are great at working with us to provide a professional, well-run horse show," Werner said. "But they also help us add a bit of fun for everyone, and the trail ride and walk through the Stable View trails should be a big hit with our exhibitors."

The 2026 T.I.P. Championship horse show will be held at Stable View in Aiken, South Carolina, Thursday, October 1, thorough Sunday, October 4. The declaration closing date is September 15, and the hardship request closing date is August 31. Please note that hardship requests will only be considered if the horse has been shown during the championship year.

Entries open in July and will close on Monday, September 14, with late entries accepted until Monday, September 21, upon payment of a late fee.

Qualifying information for the championships is available on the T.I.P. website at tjctip.com/About/CSI. Prize lists will be made available in the spring.
