HRRN's 'Animal Kingdom Week' Begins April 27

Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY, announced today they will recognize the accomplishments of 2011 Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom beginning Monday, April 27. 'Animal Kingdom Week' presented by Keeneland Sales runs throughout Kentucky Derby week with special content featured across HRRN's platform of weekly shows, as well as on the network's social media pages, website and e-newsletters. Listeners will enjoy replays of his biggest wins along with interviews and conversations looking back on his racing career. Consigned by Denali Stud, the son of Leroidesanimaux (BRZ) was purchased by his breeder Barry Irwin's Team Valor International for $100,000 as hip 632 at the 2009 Keeneland September Yearling Sale. Trained by Graham Motion, Animal Kingdom captured the Grade 3 Spiral Stakes at Turfway Park prior to his victory in the 137th Kentucky Derby under Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez. Prior to his retirement in 2013, Animal Kingdom won that year's Grade 1 Dubai World Cup, providing his fifth win from twelve lifetime starts with earnings totaling $8,387,500.
